Visualize activities, simplify cooperation
Enterprise Microblogging is a new communication tool. Users can enter short messages in a Microblogging web application that other users in the enterprise can subscribe to. These distinct subscriptions can be sorted and displayed according to various criteria, such as teams, projects, time, keywords and specific themes. Every user decides which news to subscribe to and how to structure them. This way only relevant information is shared.
Applying Enterprise Microblogging in a company offers to advantages: (1) the activities of staff, work teams, departments are becoming more transparent, and (2) the coordination of joint activities is considerably simplified.
The aim of Ireko is to give partners from industry the chance to experience Microblogging in reality, by using it at #ubimic laboratory, which is established at the Department of Factory Planning and Factory Management of Chemnitz University of Technology. In the 2nd quarter 2010 the IREKO team and companies will jointly simulate, test and further develop (practical) applications of this new technology. A holistic view on Microblogging in a professional environment, including technical, organizational and social challenges, represents a focal point of this project.
#ubimic laboratory is a joint project of the Department of Organization Studies and Work Research, the Department of Factory Planning and Factory Management and the Department of Business Informatics at Chemnitz University of Technology.
At #ubimic laboratory we develop new application scenarios of the technological innovation ‘Enterprise Microblogging’ for everyday operation. This is done in cooperation with companies. Furthermore, we accompany pilot projects in practice.
